The Obadon Hotel Group Announces Deborah Carr As General Manager of the Omphoy Ocean Resort

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The Obadon Hotel Group, management company of the famed Brazilian Court Hotel, proudly announces the appointment of Deborah Carr as general manager of The Omphoy Ocean Resort. The Omphoy is scheduled to open April 1, 2009 as the newest luxury addition to The Obadon Hotel Group. Carr will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of The Omphoy — the only beachfront boutique hotel on Palm Beach and the first new hotel development on the island in nearly 20 years.

Carr boasts three decades of experience in the hospitality industry and hotel management. After graduating from Hunter College with a double major in business management and elementary education, Carr began her career in 1980 when she assumed the role of food and beverage secretary at The Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City. Carr quickly climbed the ladder and was named food and beverage director.

She earned her first general manager position at The Madison Hotel in Norfolk, Va. and went on to manage The Mobil 5 Star Grand Bay Hotel in Coconut Grove, FL and Le Parker Meriden Hotel in New York City. In 2003, Carr was named general manager of The Brazilian Court Hotel and managed the property for three years.
